Striped Maple Hike: Sunday, Sept 12 at 10 AM. Meet at the new Klutz Woodland parking area which is across from 162 Joe Sweet Road in the Chepachet area of Glocester. It will be a 2 ½ mile walk on five new trails in the Klutz Woodland area of the 1278 acre Sprague Farm Town Forest. The walk will take about two hours. Among the sights will be lots of stone walls, a mid 1800’s farmhouse foundation and chimney, groups of the rare Striped Maple tree, and old gravel roads unchanged for 200 years. Some of the walk will pass through muddy areas so everyone should wear appropriate footwear. Dogs are welcome but they must be leashed and social. No aggressive dogs. It is not yet hunting season, so orange clothing is not necessary. The walk will be led by Roy Najecki. Call him at 647-3631 with any questions.
